Program Highlights

The Dhamma Aid Foundation has been running the Women & Child Welfare Program for several years, focusing on advocacy, protection, and empowerment.

  • Legal awareness campaigns around:
    • Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005
    • Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961
    • Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006
  • Awareness to remove bias against girl children and improve sex ratio
  • Programs to prevent trafficking, abuse, and exploitation of women and children
  • Support for economic and social empowerment of vulnerable women
  • Relief, rehabilitation, and skill development services for disadvantaged women
  • Gender-sensitive training, research, and policy awareness initiatives
  • Efforts to provide care, protection, and development for:
    • Children in need of care and protection
    • Children in conflict with law

The program strives to create a safer and more just environment where women and children can grow, thrive, and lead empowered lives.
